With today’s release, users now have the ability to connect their eBay Classifieds account with their Twitter, as well as Facebook accounts. This will allow users to auto-tweet new ads as soon as their ad posts. In addition, we now allow users to select whether or not to auto-share new eBay Classifieds ads on Facebook or Twitter during the ad posting process.
To connect your Twitter account to your eBay Classifieds account, click on Manage my ads and then click on the My Profile tab. Below the Facebook section is the new Twitter section.
Click the “Connect with Twitter” button, and then allow eBay Classifieds access when prompted by Twitter.
Once Twitter has been added to your eBay Classifieds account, you can choose whether or not to auto-share new ads on Twitter (by default) and whether or not to link to Twitter in your user badge on your ads.
We encourage you to let users know who you are. If you choose to show your Twitter details on your ads, your user badge will have a link to your Twitter page. (Currently the avatar in the user badge comes from Facebook.)
We’ve heard from our users that while you like auto-sharing ads, you don’t want to auto-share all of the ads you post on eBay Classifieds. We’re happy to announce with this release that we’re now giving you the choice to auto-share ads during the posting process. Now when you post an ad, if you have connected your eBay Classifieds account with Facebook and/or Twitter, you’ll be prompted to choose whether or not to auto-share your ads on Facebook and/or Twitter. These options will be pre-filled with your selections on the “My Profile” tab.
Simply check the boxes to auto-share on Facebook and Twitter. Your selection(s) only apply to the ad you are currently posting and will not change your chosen default settings.
We hope you like these changes, and we hope it makes your eBay Classifieds experience even better. Let us know what you think.
